SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) has criticised the signing of the Armenia-Turkey Protocols, stating it stands to reward a perpetrator of Genocide.
A statement released by the Armenian-Australian community’s peak public affairs committee reads: “The now signed protocols, if ratified and implemented, reward an unrepentant perpetrator of genocide and seriously encroach upon the basic human rights of a people that have been subjected to mass killings.â€
ANC Australia moved on to state they will not abandon their drive for justice on behalf of the Armenian-Australian community.
The statement continued: “In line with the collective will of the Armenian people and the resolve of the Armenian-Australian community, ANC Australia will continue to pursue its policy to have Australia join the list of nations that have condemned the Armenian Genocide as this policy represents the most effective means of preventing genocide and finding a just resolution to this crime against humanity.â€
