SYDNEY: In April 2025, the Armenian Professional Network of Australia (APN-AU) held their annual ‘Start of Year Networking Event’ at Cardea in Sydney’s CBD, bringing together over a hundred Armenian-Australian professionals.
The event, which was sponsored by Garry Simonian, Director of the Platinum Restaurant Group was hosted on Wednesday, 2 April 2025 bringing together professionals from a range of industries to build connections and spur career development amongst fellow Australians of Armenian ancestry.
As well as a wide selection of canapés and beverages, attendees were treated to a number of networking games such as the ‘Lets Get Social Scavenger Hunt’ and ‘Inner and Outer Circle Speed Dating’, coordinated by APN-AU Committee Member Olivia Dilanchian.
Throughout the night, the APN-AU also organised a ‘Roaming Mic’ segment asking attendees questions and providing a platform to hear suggestions that could be implemented by the APN-AU in the near future.
APN-AU Chairperson Dr Viken Kortian said: “The Start of Year Event was a great success, it was so encouraging to see younger members of our community connect with the older generations, getting tips on how they may grow their careers.”
He added, “We are hopeful that through more events like this, the Armenian professional community can continue to grow and become more interconnected than ever before.”
The Armenian Professional Network of Australia (APN-AU) relaunched in 2018 is an initiative by the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC-AU), with the goal of connecting Armenian professionals across Australia.
