SYDNEY: The Armenian Professional Network of Australia (APN-AU) is proud to announce that the first elected Armenian-Australian Premier of New South Wales, Ms. Gladys Berejiklian, will serve as the inaugural Patron of the Armenian Professional Network of Australia (APN-AU).
The APN-AU, established to empower, connect, and inspire Armenian-Australian professionals across all sectors, welcomes Ms. Berejiklian’s patronage as a significant milestone in its mission to foster mentorship, career growth, and community leadership.
Berejiklian, a descendant of Armenian Genocide survivors, first entered politics in 2003 as the Member for Willoughby. Over the course of her 18 year career in politics she rose to one of the most influential seats in the country, serving as the 45th Premier of New South Wales.
Berejiklian currently serves as a corporate executive for one of the largest telecommunications companies in Australia.
Following the relaunch of the Armenian Professional Network of Australia in 2018, Berejiklian was the keynote speaker at the annual networking event held in Sydney’s CBD.
Chairperson of the APN-AU, Mr Viken Kortian said: “We are deeply honoured to have Ms. Berejiklian as our inaugural Patron. Her exemplary career and enduring commitment to both professional excellence and the Armenian-Australian community embody the values we seek to instil in our network.”
As part of her role, Ms. Berejiklian will join the APN-AU at its second Mental Health Awareness Event, hosted on Wednesday, 8 October 2025, commencing at 7:00pm at the Hunters Hill Town Hall - an event designed to address the challenges facing professionals and young leaders in maintaining balance, resilience, and mental wellness.
