
SYDNEY: The Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee has announced details of Australia's National Commemoration for the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The Concourse (409 Victoria Ave, Chatswood NSW 2067) on
Friday, 24 April 2026, commencing from
6:30pm, will be attended by approximately 1,000 members of Sydney’s Armenian community, along with fellow community, religious, political, media, diplomatic and academic leaders from across the country.
The event is organised by the Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee, under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Vardan Navasardyan, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Australia and New Zealand, the Armenian Catholic Church, and the Armenian Evangelical Church.
The member organisations of the Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee are the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, the Armenian Missionary Association of Australia, Hamazkaine, Nor Serount, Homenetmen, Tekeyan, Armenian Relief Society, Dkhrouni, Armenian General Benevolent Union, Armenian National Committee of Australia and the Armenian Youth Federation of Australia.
Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC-AU) Chairperson, Vache Kahramanian expressed the appreciation on behalf of organisers to all volunteers making this year’s commemorative events possible.
Kahramanian said: “I extend our sincere gratitude to the many dedicated volunteers whose tireless efforts make this important national commemoration possible each year. Their commitment ensures that we continue to honour the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide with the dignity and reverence they deserve, while educating future generations and reaffirming our collective resolve for truth and justice.”
